Does this community still exist?

Yo dudez. I'm new to the rochester area and I accidently stumbled across this forum via myspace. This is evidently the only way to get in contact with anyone related to ska in rochester (since I don't have a myspace), so I'm trying to find someone live here that knows what this is all about or if this community even still exists? I'm really into ska and the likes and I've surfed through the myspaces associated with a lot of these bands and I'm digging the music. I don't actually play, unfortunately, but I'm interested in potential shows and definitely acquiring permenant copies of the tunes. If anyone is out there- please don't keep me hanging in suspense. -Misha

yo. My name is Matt and I am currently at SUNY Geneseo. I've played trombone since dinosaurs walked the earth but didn't get hooked till my clown of a former history classmate Mike Mason sank his claws into me. My first ska show ever was the first Ska is Dead tour and i've been hooked ever since. My favs include Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, We Are The Union, and Mustard Plug. I'm the sort of guy that ditches half finished quantum hw half an hr before its due when my friend texts me that we are the union is currently playing down the hill. yeah guess that's it. BTW does anyone know if there will be tickets at the door for Streetlight on the 31st? I've actually never been to Penny arcade.

hey, neil. I'm called Kole, or - more frequently - Bandit. I'm new to Rochester, but pretty much a vet to the ska scene, and i'm looking to start a band. I'm a first year at RIT, and i play sax (a little trumpet) and i've already made acquaitance with a kid who plays the trombone, who is also into ska. I'm sure we could use a drummer, especially if you have a kit. hit me up on myspace or face book, or even email me, if you want. http://www.myspace.com/skanksterk http://hs.facebook.com/profile.php?id=509707536
